Good old wooden kitchen tables are being replaced by modern metal and plastic ones. Metal kitchen tables are strong and long lasting. So are plastic ones. Both, unless the design has a lot of nooks and crevices, are more stain resistant and easier to clean than wood. But wood adds warmth to a kitchen and since the table is the center of the kitchen, wooden kitchen tables offer the most character. Also, since kitchens have a great deal of wooden cabinets; a wooden table will not seem out of place with the rest of the décor, even if it does not match it perfectly.
